The Toa Reinsurance Company of America (Toa Re America) is an underwriter of all lines of assumed reinsurance for ceding companies and other insurance entities principally located in North America. Founded in 1982, Toa Re America operated as a strategic partner of The Mercantile & General Reinsurance Company of America from inception until Mercantile & General's 1997 purchase by The Toa Reinsurance Company, Ltd.
